A history of caring

Since 1986, The Downtown Plaza became as much of a defining feature of the Red Wing, Minnesota, skyline as the limestone bluffs that surround it. More importantly, it’s been a defining part of the lives of so many of our community’s older adults.

We originally opened our doors to area seniors as The Seminary Plaza, to acknowledge Red Wing’s long history of caring for the community’s elders. As time went on, we came to understand that our roots are intertwined with those of the downtown Red Wing area, and in July 2009, we were reborn as The Downtown Plaza. Still today, we pride ourselves on being so convenient for all of our residents to everything the community has to offer.

Hello Everyone!

I am beyond honored to be part of your life at The Downtown Plaza of Red Wing and to serve you!

Your community has a very special place in my heart for a few reasons. I was born and proud to be raised in “pretty Red Wing.” Before my dad passed in 1986, our family business was part of the initial construction of The Downtown Plaza and city parking ramp before selling the ready-mix business to Cemstone. I loved visiting very special people who have lived in your beautiful building. For several years, it has been a dream of mine to serve your prestigious community, so my heart is full of happiness!

I have several years’ experience working in business, sales, and senior living. It is a passion of mine to help others, especially older adults find a wonderful place to live that will enrich their lives!

My husband, Wendell and I were high school sweethearts and married 32 years ago just 1 ½ blocks from The Downtown Plaza. For 17 of those years, we had lived in Winona, Owatonna and Ellendale, MN, and finally returned to Red Wing in 2005. We have an amazing, kind-hearted 25-year-old daughter, Natalie, who lives in town as well. My favorite relaxing pastime is soaking in some sun on the pontoon, spending time with family and friends, and living life to its fullest!

I am really looking forward to meeting each of you! Have a blessed year!

Sincerely,
Connie Kuehni
